The fun has begun and luckily we are still in the honeymoon stage!!!We were able to bring home all three right before Christmas, which was truly the best gift we will ever recieve.Unfortunately, Emery had RSV so we had to have the girls stay with the grandmas a few days to be on the safe side. Everyone is now healthy and we are enjoying being at home with our "Big" family. The sisters have adjusted much easier now that we all are at home and not traveling back and forth to the hospital. Ava has been a HUGE help for a 5 year old. She truly is a little momma by helping us with feeding, giving the babies pacifiers and holding them. Hopefully this phase will last a long time, because this momma will always welcome a helping hand! Emery on the other hand, loves her brothers and sister but is not as interested in them.She stops by and gives them a kiss or says "hi" before running off and tending to her own babydolls. I think she will enjoy the babies more when they are a bit more active! I am truly thankful that Brian was able to get off two weeks for the holidays and now is taking 3 weeks of his paternity leave. He gets to finally experience the joys of the nightly feedings. With Ava and Emery I would be up nursing while he sat there snoring next to me in bed, but not this time!! Luckily, the babies are on the NICU schedule and wake up every 4 hours to feed so we feed at 10pm go to bed then wake up at 2am and 6am. So it's not too bad at this point and we hope this schedule stays the same and hopefully eventually stretches out. My days pretty much consist of feeding, cleaning, loads of laundry, pumping every 2-3 and repeat. I am very lucky if I get a shower in by the end of the night and I pretty much shower and change from dirty pj's into clean ones! Good days are when we go to Dr visits or church where I am forced to shower and dress in the morning!!! On occasions I sneak out to Target for a little me time! Once again we want to thank everyone who has brought us dinners, all of them have been very yummy! It is very nice to not have to worry about cooking dinner especially when we are typically doing the 6pm feeding that falls at dinner time. Overall we are doing great~ I hope y'all enjoy all the photos I have posted on Facebook and on the blog. I spent probably about 6 days shooting all three. Being the mom and photographer was a tough job! A big thanks to my friend Kristin who helped with a few of the shots and the ones of Brian and I. Everyday I am so thankful God chose us to be the parents of these 5 beautiful children. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be in this house, closer to our church and both our parents houses. My mom has since retired and is available to help anytime, which means all five children are loved and cared for by 2 grandmas and grandpas and will always be great role models in their lives. But most importantly, Brian and I both are more affectionate, patient and even more grateful for life itself. Don't get me wrong when we had Ava and Emery we were grateful and thankful to have gotten pregnant and to be parents.But going through what we did for this pregnancy and seeing the struggles we went through made us be more appreciative and thankful for these three lives.It also allowed us to realize what a miracle both Ava and Emery were to us as well! Thank God that he created Ava just the way she is to be the "Big Sister", little momma, mommy's big helper, realiable and a great cleaner and organizer!!! Then we thank God for giving us Emery to make us laugh, teach us to live on the wild side and also work on our patience! It all worked out and couldn't be a better story!
